After much work, we have been able to organize The Scott Nagy, D.D.S., Foundation.  It started as an idea to create an instrument by which we could more easily channel our efforts to support the children of Lorain County. We have been involved in charity, through the dental practice, in the form of dental treatment and community action for nearly seventeen years.  What we were able to do was very helpful and we improved the lives of many people, children and adults.  Resources were limited and we found that our desire was to be able to do more. 
  
When we started the annual Halloween Candy Buyback for the overseas troops, we saw an amazing outpouring of support from the community.  Although we bought back loads of candy, there were many kids that wanted to donate additional candy and people who wanted to make cash donations to support our Buyback project. After a couple of years, we realized that we needed more organization if we were to continue to expand our charitable efforts for our community and beyond.  This sparked the beginning of the process of forming and qualifying the Foundation as a non-profit charitable organization.  As a qualified organization, we can pursue grant money and corporate support with higher success.  We are able to legitimize people's financial support for the Foundation as a tax deductible charitable contribution.  This will help us grow to be able to give even more support to the kids of Lorain County.

We have several events planned for this year.  Two possibilities are a 5k fun run/walk and a fun Summer event called "Kids' Dream Day on The Bay".
